At the confluence of the Bagmati and Bishnumati rivers, Kathmandu culminates at an altitude of 1300 meters next to the towns of Patan and Bhaktapur. Encircled by the buttresses of the Himalayas, the administrative capital of Nepal is also the main residence of the Royal family. With a million and half of inhabitants, Kathmandu is the most important and, so to speak, the only true large city of the country.
